How I Support Students

Explore how I support students through purposeful instruction, collaboration, individualized support, and a focus on growth.

Differentiated Instruction

I change how I explain, demonstrate, or practice something when students need a different way to understand it.

I do this so that struggling students get the support they need while students who are ready for more can continue to grow.

I work closely with families, other teachers, and support staff to understand what helps each student succeed.

By sharing what we observe and what works, we can give the student more consistent support.

I follow each student's learning plan by putting their agreed accommodations and supports into practice during everyday lessons.

This helps remove barriers that may otherwise prevent the student from participating and showing what they know.

I regularly check what students understand through their work, questions, discussions, and short activities.

What I see tells me whether to slow down, explain it differently, give more practice, or move students forward.

I teach students to make choices about their learning, ask for help when they need it, and recognize what helps them learn best.

The goal is for students to gradually rely less on me and become confident in managing their own learning.

I listen to students, value their experiences, treat them fairly, and make sure they have opportunities to participate and be heard.

Students learn better when they feel safe, respected, and genuinely included in the classroom.
